NASA. LARGE FORMAT. Fabulous and rare Earth survey observed by the LUNAR RECONNAISSANCE ORBITER spacecraft from lunar orbit. The Earth straddles the Moon's limb. The shadow in the foreground is cast by the crater's central peaks. The center of the Earth in this view is just off the coast of Liberia. The large tan area in the upper right is the Sahara Desert, and just beyond is Saudi Arabia. The Atlantic and Pacific coasts of South America are visible on the left. This photograph provides a contemporary sequel to the Earth survey photographs observed from the Moon, all of which belong to the most mythical corpus in the history of Space Conquest photography. 2015.
