NASA. This superb composite photographic... - Lot 238 - Vermot et Associés
NASA. This superb composite photographic image looking towards the highest regions of Mount Sharp was acquired during mission sol 1099 (September 9, 2015), using the camera on the Curiosity rover's 100mm right mast. In the foreground, about 3 kilometers from the rover is a long ridge teeming with hematite, an iron oxide. Just beyond is a rolling plain rich in clay minerals. And just beyond are a multitude of rounded buttes, all rich in sulfate minerals. The evolution of mineralogy in these Mount Sharp layers suggests a changing environment in early Mars, though all imply exposure to water billions of years ago. 2016.period chromogenic print. Legend on back label. 20.4 x 25.5CM with margins.
