BERNARDIN de SAINT-PIERRE: Œuvres complètes. Méquignon-Marvis, 1818. 12 vol. in-8, contemporary havana half calf, spine ribbed and decorated (usual brown spots and stains). First collective edition. Off-text engravings. Copy scrupulously conforms to Vicaire's description (tome 7, 82-84) except for tome 1. Volume 1, in this copy, has the characteristics indicated by Vicaire, but only 3 engravings, and on the title page the date is 1820, not 1818. All other volumes bear the date 1818 and are exactly as Vicaire indicates. This edition is therefore the first collective edition of Bernardin de saint-Pierre's works, with the restriction stated for volume 1 (which would be from the second edition...). A fine copy.
