Nasa. LARGE FORMAT. Historic spacewalk by... - Lot 17 - Vermot et Associés
Nasa. LARGE FORMAT. Historic spacewalk by astronaut ED. WHITE. White wears a specially designed spacesuit. His face is shaded by a gold-plated visor to protect him from the sun's unfiltered rays. In his right hand, he carries an HHSMU (Hand-Held Self-Maneuvering Unit) which enables him to control his movements in space. White also carries an emergency oxygen kit and a camera mounted on the HHSMU to take photos of the sky, Earth and the GT-4 spacecraft. He is attached to the spacecraft by a 25-foot umbilical cable and a 23-foot docking cable. The two lines are wrapped together in gold tape to form a single cord. Astronaut James A. McDivitt, commander, remained inside the spacecraft during the extravehicular activity (EVA). June 1965. Posterior chromogenic print. Numbering on front. Label on back. 40.6 x 40.6cm with margins.
