PHYSICS - Georg Simon OHM (1789-1854, German physicist) / In 1827, Ohm published "die galvanische Kette, matematisch bearbeitet", on electrical phenomena produced by the natural contact of two or more bodies. This study was not printed and translated into French until 1860 by physicist Jean-Mothée GAUGAIN (1810-1880), under the title "Théorie mathématique du circuit galvanique": the 40 p folio manuscript presented (in sheets of 4 p) reproduces Ohm's theory in its entirety in French, and the mastery of the numerous calculations presented suggests that this manuscript is, if not by Gauguain, at least by a close physicist collaborator (chipping on the sides and soiling).
