PALESTINE NACRE The Adoration of the Magi, late 18th - early 19th century. 14.5 x 11 cm. Medallion executed in one piece from a complete, carved and openwork mother-of-pearl. Christian work from Bethlehem for pilgrims to the Holy Land, probably by Armenian craftsmen. A mother-of-pearl depicting the same scene is in the collections of the Musée arménien de France.
