Atelier Pery et Fils is one of France's leading jewelry workshops, having been in business since 1877, still at 7 boulevard St Denis in Paris, until 2012.
Initially a chainist under the aegis of Lucien Pery at the end of the 19th century, the workshop grew with his son Albert and grandson Bernard over the course of the 20th century, becoming a key supplier to some of the world's greatest houses, including Boivin, Cartier, Mauboussin, Boucheron and, of course, Van Cleef and Arpels.
The partnership between Albert and Bernard, then with his daughter Brigitte Pery, gave rise to iconic designs from the 1930s to the 1980s.
Notable for having designed and produced a large part of the bestiary in the Van Cleef and Arpels Boutique, the chain-maker's past is echoed here for Maison Boucheron in the use of twisted wire to bring this bird to life.
