Born in 1820 at the Tuileries Palace in Paris, he died at Frohsdorf Castle in 1883. This is the date we see on the bracelet. On the back is a souvenir of the battle of Arques in 1589 by his aunt Henri IV. Manufactured by the Parisian Maison Bapst Falize, a jeweller to the Crown and the result of a partnership between Lucien Falize and Germain Bapst in 1880. This union lasted until 1892, when Germain Bapst left his partner. They presented a number of goldsmith and jewelry items at the 1889 World's Fair in Paris.
