Copy number 9/40. Schellmann Edition, Munich/New York. Jenny Holzer is an American multidisciplinary artist best known for her text-based public art projects. She was the first woman to represent the United States at the Venice Biennale in 1990. Our four-photograph work features images from her screening of "Truth Before Power", organized by Kunsthaus Bregenz in Austria in 2004. 55.5 × 45 cm. This lot was introduced into the European Union under the temporary importation customs regime. In accordance with current regulations, this regime will have to be regularized either by re-exporting the lot outside the European Union, accompanied by a duly approved letter of landing and the required customs documents, or by paying the VAT and import duties applicable in the case of release for consumption in the Union. In the event of retention in France, import VAT at the reduced rate of 5.5% will be added to the auction price. This lot was imported into the European Union under the temporary admission customs regime. In accordance with applicable regulations, this regime must be regularised either by re-exporting the lot outside the European Union, accompanied by a duly approved landing certificate and the required customs documentation, or by paying the applicable import duties and VAT should the lot be released for free circulation within the Union. If the lot is retained in France, an import VAT at the reduced rate of 5.5% will be added to the hammer price.
