Henri MATISSE (1869-1954) John-Antoine Nau, Poésies Antillaises, 1972. Illustrated with 28 full-page portrait lithographs and 27 other out-of-text ornaments by Matisse. In-folio, loose as issued in publisher's wrappers and cardboard slipcase. Published by Mourlot, Paris. One of 50 deluxe copies with a suite of 12 lithographs on Japon. 37.8 x 28.4 cm. This lot was introduced into the European Union under the customs regime of temporary importation. In accordance with current regulations, this regime will have to be regularized either by re-exporting the lot outside the European Union, accompanied by a duly approved letter of landing and the required customs documents, or by paying the VAT and import duties applicable in the event of release for consumption in the Union. In the event of retention in France, import VAT at the reduced rate of 5.5% will be added to the auction price. This lot was imported into the European Union under the temporary admission customs regime. In accordance with applicable regulations, this regime must be regularised either by re-exporting the lot outside the European Union, accompanied by a duly approved landing certificate and the required customs documentation, or by paying the applicable import duties and VAT should the lot be released for free circulation within the Union. If the lot is retained in France, an import VAT at the reduced rate of 5.5% will be added to the hammer price.
