Victor Guy DUPERRÉ, Baron of the Empire, Admiral in 1830, Peer of France, Minister of the Navy and Colonies in 1834 (La Rochelle/Charente-Maritime 1775 - Paris 1846) - Autograph letter signed on board LA SYRÈNE, SOLIDOR roadstead (St Servan-Sur-Mer, Ille-et-Vilaine), May 29 (1808), to Commissaire GAUDE, in charge of service at St Servan. 2 pages in-4°: "To speed up the rearming of my Flûte, which is totally dismantled. I think that a large number of men could be added from among those in the garrison, to the sailors on board who are working on my lower shrouds. This will enable me to re-fit the flute, which in any case cannot be ready for another 10 to 12 days. I also have some carpentry and joinery work that could be promptly completed by increasing the number of workers..."
