Paris 2024 Olympic Torch - Opening Ceremony - Lot 113
Paris 2024 Olympic Torch - Opening Ceremony Official torch of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, used during the Opening Ceremony and carried by one of the mysterious masked Torchbearers moving across the rooftops of Paris. Designed by Mathieu Lehanneur and manufactured in France by ArcelorMittal. Identical to the traditional model in height (70 cm), weight (1.5 kg) and champagne-gold hue, this torch has a unique feature: it is modified and pierced, enabling it to be attached to a steel cable, thus ensuring a secure hold while allowing the flame carriers to hold it in their hands. Worn during the final run-up to the lighting of the Olympic cauldron, it was at the heart of a historic moment. Presented in its official case, this torch, which took part in the opening of the Paris 2024 Games, is a rare and emblematic piece.
