Weightlifting / Strength / Bodybuilding / World / Chaillot Two original posters announcing the 7th World Championships 1950 in Paris 80 x 60 - 42 x 31 cm (not canvas-backed) Rare posters for the international competition organized at the Palais de Chaillot by the Fédération Française d'Haltérophilie et de Culture Physique. Pared-down, striking illustration by R. Ristroph, playing on the graphic codes of the discipline with a limited palette of gray, red and black. A historic edition featuring 15 nations, marking the return to prominence of the United States, with 3 world titles in six categories, thanks to Davis in the heavyweight class (462.5 kg) and Stanczyck. Egypt confirmed its world-class status with Fayad and El Touny, while Iran took 3rd place thanks to Namdjou in cock (310 kg), who was awarded a car by the Shah. The honorary title of "World's Most Beautiful Athlete" went to American J. Farbotnik, ahead of Frenchmen Mario Marello and R. Marchal. A competition marked by the remarkable return of the Soviets and the resistance of the French delegation led by Herbaux and Thévenet.
