François DUGUÉ DE BAGNOLS(1610-1685) Maître des requêtes on July 4, 1643 and ordinary advisor to the King in his councils, intendant of justice, police and finance in Normandy. In 1666, he was intendant in the province of Dauphiné, Lyonnais, Forez and Beaujolais. Certificate of Nobility signed "DUGUÉ" on his letterhead with his name and titles, made in Grenoble on July 22, 1667. "Certify to all that Noble Charles de BANES (or de BANNE) Seigneur de la Bastie de Veyre, having been summoned before us at the request of Mr Jacques Douveleul Commis par Sa Majesté à la recherche des usurpateurs du titre de Noblesse en Dauphiné, has represented them to us, and that we have seen, examined, initialed and immediately returned to the said Sieur de Banes who, by the said Titles, has sufficiently proved his Nobility, in witness whereof we have sent him the present certificate to serve him and be worth what is right."
