ARDENNES. Barony of HIERGES. 2 Trial briefs from 1756, for C - Lot 158
ARDENNES. Barony of HIERGES. 2 Trial briefs from 1756, for Cazimir D'EGMONT PIGNATELLY, Duc de Gueldre et de Julliers, Comte d'Egmont et de Zutphem, Prince de Graves et du Saint-Empire, Baron d'Hierges. He contests the procedure of lineage withdrawal and the ruling of the Sovereign Court of Bouillon, concerning the Barony of Hierges (or Hyerges), located in the Duchy of Bouillon and Pays de Liège. The Barony of Hierges was sold by Guy d'Egmont Pignatelly, Baron of Hierges, to François-Léon de la Barre d'Erquelinnes, with the option of lineal withdrawal. Less than a year after the sale, this option was exercised in favor of the Duc d'Arenberg (or d'Aremberg). See Château-Fort d'Hierges in the Ardennes. Mémoire de 28 pages in-folio, de l'Imprimerie de la Veuve DELATOUR, rue de la Harpe, 1756+ Mémoire du 4 Août 1755. 18 pages, printed by the Widow Charles-Maurice d'HOURY, Printer and Bookseller, rue vieille Bouclerie, 1756.
