Émile BERNARD (1868-1941) Persian Dancer (Armene Ohanian with tambourine), 1914. Charcoal and pastel on brown paper. Signed, dated and titled in ink. 37 x 30 cm. Framed under glass. The famous French painter had a passionate relationship with the Armenian-born dancer Armène Ohanian (Persia/Iran 1887- Mexico 1976) between 1913 and 1915. He painted and drew many portraits of her.
