Paper in need of restoration: missing lower left corner and worn edges. Folds. Possibility of reducing damaged margins. 126 x 89 cm. Warhol's American Indian series was shown in three consecutive exhibitions: Flow Ace Gallery, Paris (France), in October 1976, Ace Gallery, Vancouver (Canada), in November 1976, and Ace Gallery, Los Angeles (California), in March 1977. Posters were available for purchase at Ace Gallery, and Warhol held dedications at all three exhibitions. The image depicts Native American civil rights activist Russell Means.
