APOLLO MISSIONS (1967-1972) - APOLLO 11 (July 16-24, 1969) The LUTs (originally 3 in number) were umbilical towers (115 m high) of the Saturn V lunar rocket launches. These fragments are the remains of the LUT-1 tower, which launched Apollo 11, among others, before being dismantled. The piece of red rubber comes from the large joint at the end of one of the tower's arms (between 3 and 7 cm).
