Expert's note:
In the 1980s, continuing its collaborations with great artists (after having worked with Jean Cocteau a few years earlier), Maison Fred launched a necklace combining gold, steel and precious stones in its Place Vendôme boutique, in collaboration with one of the greatest actresses and icons of French cinema, Madame Catherine Deneuve.
The capsule collection was launched in 1984. Created by the André Vassort workshop, this set is now appearing at auction for the first time. Acquired at the time by the current owner's parents, these jewels embody the chic, audacious jewelry of the 1980s, sublimated by the aura of one of the world's most famous Frenchwomen.
