Cycling / Half-distance / Jules Miquel Lot of 3 old postcard - Lot 35
Cycling / Half-distance / Jules Miquel Lot of 3 old postcards of Aveyron's Jules MIQUEL (1884-1966) including: - 2 signed cards, one from military service (1909, with wrestling buddies), the other from Berlin, with his signature, that of Dupré, Pouchois and Hourlier, talks about his races across the Rhine and those of buddies Rutt, Guignard (photo of him, with Arcona jersey, trace of glue) - 1 card : MIQUEL behind his pacemaker in Germany With these documents, we realize that before 1914, French stayers made a splash on the other side of the Rhine. MIQUEL, whose career spanned from 1910 to 1927, never took a round-trip ticket; as a result, at the age of 82, he's still in bed, having been vice-champion of the world, Europe and France. He shone in several Six Jours in Frankfurt and Berlin, and won the prestigious Treptow Gold Wheel in 1914 and 1925. The star of Saint-Affrique.
