Cycling / Reconstituent / Dopinge Share "Société des Gouttes Athlétiques, divided into 2,000 shares, bearer profit share". The illustrated share dated April 29, 1897 is whole, complete with its 32 uncut coupons. 42.5 x 33 cm On the reverse, an extract from the articles of association (13 articles out of 23) is worth a look: article 2: Les gouttes athlétiques et la Liqueur Athlétique have the well-defined role and character of hygienic antidepressant and excitomotor products, apart from any medicinal character". Article 1, point A gives further details: "its special composition makes it practical, pleasant to use and physiologically more effective than other similar products, contained in a small portable bottle for use by cyclists, runners, athletes, riders, hunters, tourists...". Further details on its trade (point B of article 1): contained in a so-called, non-refillable bottle and intended to be sold by the proprietors of garages, velocipedic stations, velodromes, gymnasiums, riding schools, athletic tracks, nautical stations, velocipedic and automobile stores, and to be detailed in cafés, inns and restaurants, either as a special drink in any excipient (aqueous, hoppy, syrupy) or as an adjuvant and corrector of various so-called aperitif mixtures..." (sic).
