Cycling/ Tour/ 1938 Lot of some twenty press photos, silver prints on the 32nd Tour de France Exceptional report on this 1938 Tour de France marked by Bartali's victory (after his retirement in 1937), and the heat wave, including the mountain stages, 9 photos in the Montagne de Reims, towards Vars, in the Faucille, in Peyresourde, in the Ballon, in the Aubisque (Paris-Soir), climb towards Briançon (16x21, poor condition) ; waterfalls, at Rolleboise, and Marcaillou (Paris-Soir); bridges, level crossings, St André-de-Cubzac, St Gilles (Paris-Soir), Le Marouillet (Meurisse). The set also illustrates riders at rest, Fréchaut and Miss Strasbourg, Louviot sketched by Red; and the heat wave (2 Paris-Soir, 2 Meurisse), at Ste Maxime, Cavalaire, Cottur and Vicini in the bottle, at Le Parc (18x24); and starts, finishes: Unis Sport ad card, the French team at the start, and last stage (Lille-Paris, on the cobblestones, 4 corners damaged, 16x21).
