Cycling / Tour / Dali DALI, after 2 official postcards "La 2 - Lot 138
Cycling / Tour / Dali DALI, after 2 official postcards "La 22ème étape, Dijon-Paris", signed upper right, one with double stamp, the other blank 9 x 14 cm Dali was a friend of Joseph Forêt, and of the Tour de France, their shared passion. Dali, who in the '50s had his transistor glued to his ear to listen to Georges Briquet's reports on the Tour, particularly in the Pyrenees, was going through an intense period of creation at the time. The riders who drooled over the Tourmalet or Aubisque made him salivate, and during this period a pearl formed near his lips. This "apocalyptic and meteoric at the same time" creation stems from this period of prosperity. The rider is a storm with Lorono, and even an "eagle of Toledo" with Bahamontes in 54, or a black angel with Gaul in 55.
