War 1939-45 / Resistance / FFI / Hautes-Pyrénées Exceptional set of 4 original items (including 2 armbands in mint condition) evoking the Resistance of Mr René Ernest BEROS (1900-1983) as an FFI, and his diplomas of Recognition: a) An F.F.I. armband, white with silk tricolor center. It bears the words F.F.I. in blue pen, and an embroidered Lorraine cross (10 x 41), no. 675. b) A blue F.F.I. armband, with silk tricolor center. Mention F.F. and below I. In the center, a slightly faded stamp in blue ink: Forces Françaises de l'Intérieur, with a beautiful Lorraine Cross in the center (8 x 44), no. 180012. c) Diplôme illustré en couleur : Organisation Civile et Militaire, Membre du Conseil National de la Résistance, pour M. BEROS René (in black Indian ink), soldier without uniform fought in the ranks of the O.C.M. for the Liberation of the Fatherland. The two signatures of the Secretary General and the President are stamps. The illustration of the combatant armed to the teeth, between cobblestones, the Cross of Lorraine and the folds of the flag, is by Ch. Lemmel (1899-1976). (32 x 24). d) Diploma: Médaille de la Résistance - "Patria non Immemor" (under the Cross of Lorraine). By decree of March 11, 1947, having regard to order no. 42 of February 9, 1943 of General de Gaulle, Leader of Fighting France, President of the French National Committee, instituting a Resistance medal... The French Resistance Medal has been awarded to M. BEROS Ernest (in India ink). Verified, sealed and registered n° 6 770, the Chancellor of the Order of the Liberation (superb dry seal with Lorraine Cross), and handwritten signature of J.F. Mariou (Secretary of the Commission de la Médaille de la Résistance Française, seal). Paris, 24.9.1947. TBE (28 x 40). The code name of the hero of Trie-sur-Baïse (65) was Capitaine Baron.
