Panama Al Brown (1902-1951), a gaunt, vine-like pugilist from Panama, made his fortune in Paris. He was unrivalled in the cockerel category. Cocteau put him back in the saddle, but the artist was very fragile and poorly supported. He died in distress in 1951.
