Cycling / Track / Half-Country / Palais des Sports Porcelain plate captioned "Palais des Sports", with floral motifs and winged stayer helmet Diam. 23 cm (wear, chips) An astonishing plate from the 1930s, mentioning the "Palais des Sports", i.e. the Vel'd'Hiv. It appears to be a tribute or gift to a certain "for Henri D. (.)". Is this Henri Desgrange? A stayer's helmet occupies the center, in the manner of Master Scob. The golden age of middle-distance running on the Grenelle track.
