Cycling / Tour / Parc des Princes Lot of 11 items between 19 - Lot 49
Cycling / Tour / Parc des Princes Lot of 11 items between 1908 and 1956 on the Parc des Princes velodrome stadium created in 1897 by Henri Desgrange and Victor Goddet, including: - 4 original press photos from 1908, silver prints of the empty velodrome. Photos Rol et Branger, 13x18 - Share "Société anonyme Vélodrome du Parc des Princes", Mille francs, overprinted 6, then crossed out. With its two other overcharges, this 1955 share gives an idea of the ups and downs that marked this long adventure, 21x27 (12 coupons remaining) - 2 electricity bills from 1934-41 - 3 postcards, including the start of a series in the 1909s - an invitation from 1956. The Parc des Princes velodrome, with its long 666.66 m track and banked curves, was the scene of Tour de France finishes between 1903 and 1967 (Poulidor's closing victory). The track was humanized in 1932, but the Parc was still the place for apotheosis, waiting meetings, the Petit Tour, revenge, and so on. In the Belle Epoque, a few truckers, frightened by the steepness of the bends, put their feet down to avoid falling off. At the time, the Parc was home to 15,000 spectators, the party, the honor laps, the photos, the jostling, the queues, the free-riders. In other words, the Stade Velodrome belongs to the living history of the Tour.
