During his sporting period in the 1980s, Freddy Defossez was greatly inspired by Ovalie, and in particular by Jacques Fouroux's team and its 1977 Grand Slam. This backline, this open maul, could well be one of those of the historic England-France match at Twickenham. The Bleus of Bastiat (headband) and captain Fouroux (9) pulled off the epic and historic second lift (3-4), which was to lead them to the great feat.
