Rugby / Henri Amand / Déro / Première première - Lot 165
Rugby / Henri Amand / Déro / Première première Robert Décremps, alias DÉRO (1920-2000) Cartoon by Henri Amand India ink on paper, signed, captioned 50 x 39 cm Original illustration for "La Fabuleuse histoire du Rugby" by Henri Garcia, published by Odil in 1973. The little opener Henri Amand (1873-1973) of the Stade Français, at the first official international match for the French team, on January 1, 1906, commanding the XV de France against the All Blacks. On his jersey, little Henri sports the two rings of the USFSA, which preceded the rooster. The shock was brutal: 38 to 8. Henri Amand was a player always loyal to the blue and red colors of the Stade Français, with whom he was 4 times French champion (1893, 94, 1901, 1903). A piece of great historical significance.
