Rugby / Gachassin / Dauga / Déro / Bagnères-de-Bigorre / Mon - Lot 176
Rugby / Gachassin / Dauga / Déro / Bagnères-de-Bigorre / Mont-de-Marsan Robert Décremps, alias DÉRO (1920-2000) Two caricatures: Jean Gachassin and Benoit Dauga India ink on paper, signed, captioned 50 x 37 cm Original illustrations for "La Fabuleuse histoire du Rugby" by Henri Garcia, published by Odil in 1973. Jeannot wasn't a rabbit, but almost. Winger, opener or fullback, he was elusive. Déro captured the frightening moment when Gachassin electrified a forward. He made fools of many opponents over the course of his 32 caps for the French national team and his matches with Lourdes (French champion in 1968). He continued to create sparks within the French Tennis Federation. Déro represents "le Grand Ferré" at almost 2 m tall. The Montois native was an asset in many of the 63 matches he played for the club (1964-1972). Skilful, courageous, a good jumper and a good fighter on the ground. He was part of the victory over the Boks in 1964. A great part of oval legend.
