HAUTE-VIENNE. LOTERIE DE LIMOGES. Louis XIV period manuscript (170?), 7 pages (37 x 24.5 cm) entitled "Mémoire de la Dépense de la Loterie (sic Lotterie) de Limoges: Dépense que l'imprimeur fourni grands moyennant qu'on lui abandonne ce qui vient de la vente et distribution des avis et listes qui se publiont dans paris concernant la loterie. 1°) Billets or Numbers to be distributed to the public in the receivers' offices, numbered only with three digits. 2°) One hundred and twenty bound registers, each containing the number 5000, with squares for writing names and mottos, numbered with the same three digits. 3°) Billets or quarrés to be used to draw the lottery, numbered with the same three digits. Plus posters or displays concerning the lottery and 1500 instructions or notices to be distributed to the public by the collectors. Plus will mark the Lottery and supply the receipts necessary for the Lottery and the control registers divided by squares to write the winners... Models of the printed receipts...".
