Byzantine gold ring with pearl The ring is formed of a molded wire of pearls and spindles, framed by two granules where it meets the underside of the crenellated four-claw bezel. These support a beaded-wire circle, at the center of which a pearl is suspended by a smooth through-wire wrapped around the beaded-wire circle, in line with the ring. 2 cm wide. 6th or 7th century A.D. Provenance: Christie's sale # 1735, December 7, 2006, lot 318.
