Byzantine cross Bronze cross pattée, decorated with small concentric circles, with its suspension ring, typical of the Byzantine period. 6.3 x 4.5 cm. Attached is a coin minted in Antioch depicting Constantine II, son of Constantine the Great. The legend reads: Constantinus iun(ior) nob(ilissimus) c(aesar) [Constantine the Younger, the most noble Caesar]. The title of Caesar was held by the sons and heirs of an emperor. According to the attached English text, this cross and coin both come from the city of Antioch (south-east Turkey, on the border with Syria).
