First edition of a rare Portuguese-language scientific monograph on comets by the mathematician, scholar, astronomer, Jesuit and professor at Portugal's prestigious University of Coimbra, António Pimenta (1620-1700), which describes the great comet of 1664 observed in Europe and advances theories.
