Charles-Louis BAZIN (1802-1859) (attributed to) - Lot 58
Charles-Louis BAZIN (1802-1859) (attributed to) Full-length portrait of Ohannès Bey Dadian, circa 1851. Oil on canvas. 76 x 61 cm (30 x 24 in.). Provenance: Bonhams, London, New Bond Street, May 10, 2005, lot 99. The Dadian (Dadyan) family had held the hereditary office of Baroutchi Bachi (Grand Master of the Imperial Powder Magazine) since 1795. Son of Boghos Bey Dadian, Director of the Imperial Imperial Powder Works (1802-1863), Ohannès Bey Dadian (1834-1919) had the opportunity to study in France. Another portrait of the young Dadian, signed by Charles-Louis Bazin and dated 1851, allows us to attribute this painting to this French painter.
