The Armenian inscription reads:
Ohannes Gasparian. Donated to the Aghtamar monastery in Van. This may be the Catholicos of Aghtamar (Akhtamar)
Hovhannes Gasparian, who served from 1823 to 1843.
A beautiful and rare object in cloisonné enamel, with an interesting provenance.
