Silver. Prayer inscription on one side and a dedication on the other in Armenian: offered to the Sourp Nichan monastery in 1821.
This type of Armenian pastoral staff is called a gazavan (Գավազան).
Sourp Nichan Monastery (Holy Sign, Սուրբ Նշան վանք Սեբաստիո) was a very important religious center in Sivas, Turkey.
