Bible (Աստուածաշունչ), 1705 Constantinople, impr. Pierre le Latin (Պետրոս Լատինացու), 1705. In-4° (22 cm), 511, 647 (=1158) pages, numerous engravings. Beautiful stamped leather binding with clasps. Fair condition. Stamps of the book's various owners. On the flyleaf, a handwritten colophon that reads, according to Prof. Sebouh Aslanian: Յիշատակ է այս Աստուածաշունչս Բենկացի կարապետի որդի սառաֆ խաչատուրին եւ իւր որդուքն պետրոսին զայս ծախիւք սորայ զամս տացմանն եղեւ ի թվին Հայոց ՌՃԶԷ [1197] ին Աստուած վայելումն տացէ ովոք հանդիպի սայ կադալով մին հայր մեղայ ասասցէ եւ զմեզ յիշէսցէ յիշեալ լիջի առաջի անմահ գառինն աստուծոյ Ամեն (These scriptures are in memory of Karapet's son from Benka, Sarraf Khatchatour and his son Petros. The year they gave this was in 1197 of the Armenian calendar [+551=1748]. May the person reading this say a prayer and remember us, be himself remembered before the immortal Lamb of God, Amen). Benka is a town on the banks of the Euphrates, in the Kharpert/Harpout vilayet, about 35 km from the city of Agn/E?in. The second Bible ever printed in Armenian. It respects the Bible printed in Amsterdam in 1660 by Voskan. This edition is even rarer than the 1660 edition.
