SEINE-ET-MARNE. SEIGNEURY OF CHÂTENOY. 2 Great Parchments of 1547 and 1635 Parchment of 1547, under the Reign of Henri II. "Réception de Foi et Hommage de la Terre de CHASTENAY en Gatinais faite par Antoine PICOT de DAMPIERRE, ayant, acquis la dite Terre de François de NILLARD Baron de Chasteauneuf , à Réné de PORQUAIRES Seigneur de CRENNE." The château was successively owned by Du Guesclin, François de Cullant, Picot comte de Dampierre, the Nicolaï family and the Thierry family. Part of the château was destroyed during the French Revolution. Some elements remain today. Parchment (128 x 47 cm) dated June 20, 1547 + SEINE ET MARNE. Parchment dated February 6, 1635. Act of Faith and Homage to the Lord of CRENNE by the Lord of Chastenay (Châtenoy, Seine et Marne) PICOT DE DAMPIERRE, before Claude GARNIER Royal Notary of Chastenoy, dependent on the Royal Châtellenie of Château-Landon (28.5 x 38 cm).
