I have just been informed that the enemies are trying to seize your castle, both to fortify it and if it were in their power to guard it against all our forces. And for the hope they would have, of recovering from Monsieur le Prévôt your uncle, some great ransom; Of which I wanted to give you notice at once so that reinforcing your guards, you have your eyes more open than ever for the preservation of your life, as I assure myself you will do; And that you will let me hear force of your news and of your uncle's health...".
