"Le Comte de La SALLE", from Château d' Huyset by BRAINE (Aisne) in Soissonnais this December 4, 1789 - to M. BAUGRAY - 1p in-4° : "Since the named Jean DROYER who deserted from my Regiment last September, Sir, has been arrested by the Maréchaussée; and that the Minister of War has been informed, I can no longer deal with his Congé until he has been returned to the Regiment, where he will be judged in accordance with Ordinances. It is therefore to be desired that this soldier be transferred there as soon as possible, as the only way to shorten his captivity."
