SUPPRESSION DES LETTRES DE CACHET. "Proclamation of the King, (Louis XVI) on the decree of the National Assembly, concerning Prisoners detained by virtue of particular orders." of January 15, 1790: "... despite the statements which have been given to his Commissioners by the King's Ministers, several former detentions may be unknown to the Ministers themselves, especially if they have taken place, by virtue of orders from Commanders, Intendants or other agents of the executive power, decrees: "... all Governors, King's Lieutenants, Commanders of State Prisons, Superiors of Houses of Strength, Superiors of Religious Houses, and all other persons entrusted with the custody of Prisoners detained by LETTRES DE CACHET... will be required to send to the National Assembly a true statement, containing the ages, names and surnames of the various Prisoners, with the causes and dates of their detention, and the extract of the orders under which they were imprisoned...". - Printed in AUCH (Gers), by J.
