Comte de NOÉ, Louis Pantaléon Jude Amédée de NOÉ (château de l'Isle-de-Noé/ Gers 1777 - 1858) Lieutenant-General, Peer of France and Aristocrat, Noble émigré. 2 Letters: Autograph letter signed Paris May 30, 1826. "Sir, In reply to your letter which you did me the honor of writing to me. I think it necessary to tell you that the NOÉ of whom you speak to me is the Chevalier de NOÉ, who died more than 10 to 12 years ago in Paris, and that he died there very ill at ease, having left only debts and no property to answer for them. At least, I know for a fact that the individuals in my family who could have laid claim to his estate never received anything from it. I was not in France when he died and cannot tell you any more that may be of use to you, and for which I am very, very sorry." 1 page in-4° Private collection stamp + Letter A.S.
