"For Army Supply". - Avis du Préfet David DAUTRESME (February 1914) "Army supplies, which have hitherto been provided without difficulty in Seine-et-Marne, are currently experiencing a slowdown, particularly for oats, and this situation, if prolonged, could have serious consequences for military operations. However, Seine-et-Marne is one of the richest agricultural regions, and one on which the Intendance is most entitled to rely... in order to ensure the immediate reunion of the oat contingent, the military authorities have ordered the requisitioning of all threshing machines, so that the threshing of grain intended for the trade will be temporarily suspended...
