A rare and perfect photograph of a TM-61 "MATADOR" missile during takeoff. Derived from V2 technology and applied to an inclined rather than vertical takeoff, the "MATADOR" missile was developed in the late 1940s by the Martin company. It was a ground-to-ground missile that tested new propulsion modes, aerodynamic models and fuel systems for propelling a rocket through the air. Circa 1950.
