NASA. Rare photograph depicting an astronaut performing scientific experiments on the lunar surface at night. In fact, this photograph was taken inside NASA's manned spaceflight training center at night. The light illuminating the astronaut is a projector designed to simulate the sun. The astronaut is Don Lind, and this exercise took place on May 30, 1968, more than a year before the Apollo 11 lunar landing on July 20, 1969. This photograph has often been used as "evidence" by conspiracy theorists to defend the thesis of a hoax concerning human presence on the Moon. Vintage silver print. Caption on back. 26.6 x 15.8cm.
