On verso of mount, handwritten annotations: "Jacques Philippe Marie Binet, born in Rennes, February 2, 1876, son of Philippe and Renée Marie Jollivet, husband of Marie Eléonore Ménard-Dubourg, Inspecteur des Études de l'Ecole Polytechnique, Professor of Astronomy at the Collège de France, President of the Académie des Sciences, Officer of the Légion d'Honneur, died May 12, 1856".
