Architect Pierre Henri Mayeux was also an engraver, painter and sculptor. He taught at the Beaux-Arts, where he himself had studied between 1862 and 1869. A government architect and building inspector, he designed the Adrien Dubouché porcelain museum in Limoges. He also worked on decorative projects, such as vases for the Louvre in 1875, and porcelain designs... He was behind the first electric chandeliers with inverted bulbs.
Pierre Henri Mayeux published a number of works, including La composition décorative (Paris, 1885), lavishly illustrated by himself, which went through eight editions and was translated into several languages.
