Rolex Oyster Perpetual Submariner Reference 5513 "Meters First" said Bart Simpson Rare and beautiful steel diver's watch with automatic movement. - Round case, graduated rotating bezel, fluted screw-down crown, screw-down caseback. - Gilt lacquered "Stardust" dial, luminescent painted round, rectangular and triangular hour markers, Mercedes hands, round-tipped central second hand. - Steel Oyster Rivet bracelet (non-elastic), steel "Big Logo" folding clasp. Accompanied by a green case with green interior signed André Col 16 avenue Victor Hugo in Paris, with embossed Rolex logo (appocryphal) on top. Case, dial, buckle and movement signed. Case numbered 1 410 475 (circa 1966). Strap 7206, End link 80, buckle dated 2 - (19)66 Self-winding mechanical movement Diameter: 39 mm - Length of bracelet (12 links): 19 - 21 cm Condition report: - cosmetic condition: good condition, wear scratches on case, bracelet and crystal, dial with "Stardust" patina or stardust, scratches on bezel (later) - mechanical condition: watch in working order at time of appraisal, overhaul recommended (watch sold as is, overhaul recommended) Expert's note: In the mid-1960s, reference 5513 was offered with a black lacquered dial with gilt lettering. The Rolex crown logo on the dial is a little different from those previously painted: it is wider and thicker, as well as slightly beveled. This feature was later nicknamed "Bart Simpson", the son of the famous animated saga, in view of his haircut. With its original box signed by a well-known Parisian retailer, coupled with a beautiful patina on the dial, this Rolex Submariner will attract the attention of the most demanding collextioners.
