Cycling / Tour de France / Brittany / Normandy Diplôme de l'Auto awarded to DHERS Eugène, 2nd overall (cat. 2) and 9th overall (all categories) in the 1923 Tour de France. Canvas lithograph, signature stamp of Henri Desgrange (slightly faded) and Maurice Goddet 42 x 52 cm (traces of scotch tape, old restorations) Decorated in 8 medallions with sports playlets, airplanes in keystone. Hercules with club and Leonté awarding the laurel wreath. The 32-year-old champion from Normandy (1891-1980) was the 4th Frenchman in a Tour of 5,378 km won by Henri Pélissier. In the second category, he was beaten by a hair's breadth by Switzerland's Henri Collé. It's worth noting that the Normandy native achieved his best ever ranking on an Armor marchine. A Giant of the road, the honor of the Tour de France.
